This has been a few months coming but its here 🙂 Below i give a short example of how a feel about each but i recommend reading my reviews for the workouts or my p90x2 journal from phase two. Hope it helps in the mean time If you haven’t yet feel free to join in on the quest to get #SuperHeroRipped.
P90x2 Strength Phase Review
Overall – 8 out of 10
- Its p90x phase 1 with less pull ups and more balance
- The gains are definitely there
- workouts are fun and don’t kill your drive
- more weights than phase 1
- more cardio than phase 1
- It feels like you could have skipped foundation phase and gone straight to strength but there are very tricky moves through out all the workouts foundation will keep you from injury.
- You move Iron but it may not be as much as your use to
- If you have the ultimate video set you will have to experiment with the add-ons
Chest Back and Balance: 4 out of 5
It is a decent chest workout, not nearly as hard as p90x chest and back. It can be enjoyable but i found my self exhausted while still wanting more. If you want a hulk like chest. Look out for an article coming soon to help you do just that
Plyocide: 4 out of 5
Seemed like it would just be Plyometrics part two but it is soo much more. I highly recommend not skipping it for other cardio. If you push past your limits it is a great cardio / leg day.
X2 Shoulder + Arms: 5 out of 5
This to me is the workout from p90x2. Its the one you feel the most growth and will push for greater numbers every time. My goal was to gover 9000 lbs of iron moved during this workout and I did manage to do that on the last day. I think this will be my default arm routine for a while
X2 yoga: 4 out of 5
No one starts loving yoga but if you give it a real chance it can change the way you view so many parts of your day. You may even find yourself doing a crane pose randomly through out the day. X2 yoga is not advanced yoga so its great for a beginner
X2 Base + Back: 4 out of 5
This is the closest you get to a leg day in X2 and though its short it really delivers. your legs will be shaking and it will be very hard to stand when you finish this one. It is like nothing u have ever experienced. Unless you have stepped in to the Asylum before
X2 Ab Ripper 2: out of 5
I will tell you this, it is easier than Ab ripper X. A little more focused but still an easier routine.
X2 Chest + Shoulders + Tris: 3 out of 5
Not a huge fan of this workout. It is more of a shoulder and triceps routine than a chest one. Though we would all love nice tris, i think most need or want more chest work.
V-Sculpt: 4 out 5
This one feel more like what you expect from p90x. Its basicly “Back and Biceps: part Deux” A punishing workout that you will feel all over for two days and love every minute of it. Next time through i will do this one more often for sure
